The "Holy Infant Orphanage" in Mae Sot, North of Thailand was started in 2010 and runs a programme for Humanitarian Assistance. It provides a home, education and feeds 41 orphans from Myanmar, aged between 3 and 16 years old. In addition, it runs an afternoon programme, from 6 to 8pm, to provide education and supper to another 80 children that cannot afford these basic needs.
At The Orphanage & Migrant Children
These children are from very poor families and sometimes they cannot even afford 1 meal per day. The part of the programme from 6 to 8pm has been suspended for not having the funds to sustain it. The amount that we will raise is for the 41 children that are in the Orphanage and hopefully to restart the programme of 6 to 8pm.
The migrations from Myanmar to Thailand started in early 1984. There are more than 100,000 migrants in Thailand, most of them in Mae Sot, Tak province,of them 30,000 are children.
These migrants came to Thailand escaping persecution from Myanmar Military government or from poverty. Most of the migrants have suffered persecution, torture, and abuse forcing them to be flee to Thailand.
